This Privacy Policy sets out who we are, the personal data we collect, how we use it and your legal rights.

About us

Film Distributors' Association Ltd (FDA) is the trade body for film distributors in the UK. Our aim is to promote their generic (non-commercial) interests. We work on a not-for-profit basis.
Film Content Protection Agency Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of FDA. Its aim is to safeguard films in their UK cinema release, reducing copyright theft and infringement.
This Privacy Policy applies to both companies and their shared website, launchingfilms.com. It does not apply to any third-party organisation.

The personal data we collect

We collect your name and email address when you opt in or sign up to receive our communications. Our legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent to receive communications from us by email. Our communications contain information about current and forthcoming films and film-related events, activities and offers that we believe will interest you.

When we contact you, we will always be clear who we are, and let you know how to contact us.
If we ever ask you for any extra information, we will always explain why we are requesting it at the time we request it. Providing extra data will always be entirely voluntary.

How we will use your personal data

We take our information security responsibilities seriously and will keep your personal data strictly confidential in accordance with this Privacy Policy and relevant laws.
Please note that sending or transmitting information over the internet is generally not completely secure, so any data you send is at your own risk. Once we have received it, your personal data is stored on secure servers in the UK and can be viewed only by us and authorised people at our appointed agencies. Physical access to the servers is strictly limited and controlled.

We will never sell your personal data or share it with any third-party.

We will aim to keep your personal data accurate and up to date in our systems. We ask you to help with this by letting us know when your email address changes or if you would prefer us to use a different email address for you.
We will retain your personal data only for as long as you wish to continue receiving communications from us – as this was our sole purpose in collecting it.
